Like the Cloud Engines PogoPlug Mobile; LaCie has launched a new device that lets you share your USB storage device.  The LaPlug allows you to access your storage device on your home network (wired or via Wi-Fi) or remotely through an Internet connection.  LaPlug connects to your home network via its Ethernet port and is then accessible, wirelessly; it supports Wi-Fi b/g/n access points.  LaPlug can stream multimedia content and back up multiple computers to one central location. Sony Debuts BDP-S185 Blu-ray and SMP-N200 Network Media Players

Sony debuts two new entrants for the digital home the SMP-N200 3D network player and BDP-S185 Blu-ray player at this years IFA show in Berlin, Germany.  Both devices are internet ready, the SMP-N200 is the upgrade to the SMP-N100 released last year. It features an XrossMedia Bar like your PS3 and is all ready for some 3D action too courtesy of the 3D Experience app. According to Sony, It’s an easy way for everyone to enjoy Internet TV. With streaming speed and quality constantly improving, you can discover a limitless world of online channels, music and movies on your TV screen with no need for separate entertainment devices. LG Releases First Smart Grid-Ready Refrigerator (DIOS)

LG has finally release one of its smart grid aware appliance from the LG THING range. The DIOS as it is called was debuted at this year’s CE Show in Las Vegas. For homes that are connected to the grid the grid-ready refrigerator will connect to the web to get software update. Other features include: Its ability to keep track of daily schedules and dispenses regular weather reports, and instead of having to jot notes on sticky memos, family members can turn the fridge’s LCD screen into a note pad to leave messages for each another. Other smart appliances left to release are ovens, washing machines and microwave. According to LG the refrigerator will conserve energy during peak hours; if the door is left open for long it will alert the user.  The appliances will also allow you to communicate with them via a Tablet, PC or smartphone to check content. Lenovo’s LePad Android Tablet Coming

Lenovo has announced that they will be joining the list of android tablet supplier as early as next year, when they release the LePad Android Tablet.  According to the company the LePad will debut in the US early next year possible after the CE Show in Las Vegas. The company did not say how much it The Lenovo LePad Android tablet will cost but did say it will initially run on Google Android mobile OS – version unknown, with the possibility of moving to Google Chrome OS later.  When release the LePad will go head to head with the likes of the Asus Eee Pad, ViewSonic Viewpad and others.
